Entrepreneur News - Andrew Wilshire
With the economy still sputtering I have recently tried to take a little more control of my finances. My first step was to subscribe to a number of economic newsletter to keep up on the latest issues. That is where I happened upon the name Andrew Wilshire and was surprised by the variety of entrepreneurial activities.
Andrew Wilshire has a long history in investment that expanded dramatically in 1997 when he began his own investment newsletter. His focus since then has been on combining investment knowledge with technology to provide investors the best up to date information so they can make informed choices.
In 2006 Andrew Wilshire began Worth Bullion Group to give investors opportunities to begin or increase their holding in precious medals. Most interesting is Mr. Wilshire's current project, Blue Goose News, that gives business owners a virtual forum for connecting and contributing to various causes that are aligned with their own values. As we move forward with the incredible technology that has evolved these are the ideas that seek to integrate what we do everyday with those who share our beliefs around the world.

Manging Director Jerry Murdock
I recently came across the name Jerry Murdock in relation to portfolio investments. This came about after a brief research project of my own into the Aspen Institute. The Institute itself focuses on promoting values based leadership through seminars, public events, and policy meetings.
I linked over to Jerry Murdock from that area since he was listed as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Aspen Institute. I was curious about a type of business people that managed this organization. What I discovered was that Mr. Murdock is the co-founder of Insight Venture Partners. This firm focuses on investing in software, Internet, and data enabled business.
Jerry Murdock co-founded this business as has helped to focus and grow its investment strategy. It is interesting to see the degree of connectedness that business people of often have today. Mr. Murdock's degree is in political science but he has applied knowledge in investing as well as technology in order to grow a business that touches all of these industries.

Happiness is Pets - So True!
My husband and I are the owners of four large dogs. We have purchased and taken in dogs from a variety of sources so I was intrigued when I heard about a company called Happiness is Pets and their project for pet owners.
Happiness is Pets has several locations in the Chicagoland area. Their project is to provide pet owners with the right tools and assurances that they are purchasing the puppy that is the best fit for their lifestyle. Their focus is on puppies so they can provide specialized knowledge about breeds and dispositions.
Each time we have added a new dog to our family our concern has been that the puppy is in good health to begin with. Records of shots are a must but this information can be hard to come by when you are working in a private transaction. That is why it is helpful to work with companies like Happiness is Pets so that they can provide you with the documentation that you should have for your newest family member.

Versitility 1800Flowers
With Valentines day past for another year I am always tempted to forget about the availability of flowers. Everyone knows that for showing love site like 1800flowers are an invaluable resource during February. My birthday doesn't come around for a few months so I put the thought of receiving more beautiful flowers on the back burner.
Recently, however, a friend of my family lost her husband to a long battle with cancer. She currently lives in another state but I was able to make a visit to 1800flowers and deliver her a gorgeous peace lily as a sign of my sympathy for the difficult time she must be going through.
While I was online it occurred to me that I could also send out a live plant to a friend who recently did me the huge favor of helping out with my kids during the days while I recovered from a terrible flu. I had been trying to think of a way to show my thanks and 1800flowers had a specific area for thank you gifts that were perfect. I was thrilled that I got it all done in such a short period of time and that I didn't even have to visit the post office! It was definitely 15 minutes well spent.
