I recently came across the name Jerry Murdock in relation to portfolio investments. This came about after a brief research project of my own into the Aspen Institute. The Institute itself focuses on promoting values based leadership through seminars, public events, and policy meetings.
I linked over to Jerry Murdock from that area since he was listed as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Aspen Institute. I was curious about a type of business people that managed this organization. What I discovered was that Mr. Murdock is the co-founder of Insight Venture Partners. This firm focuses on investing in software, Internet, and data enabled business.
Jerry Murdock co-founded this business as has helped to focus and grow its investment strategy. It is interesting to see the degree of connectedness that business people of often have today. Mr. Murdock's degree is in political science but he has applied knowledge in investing as well as technology in order to grow a business that touches all of these industries.
