With Valentines day past for another year I am always tempted to forget about the availability of flowers. Everyone knows that for showing love site like 1800flowers are an invaluable resource during February. My birthday doesn't come around for a few months so I put the thought of receiving more beautiful flowers on the back burner.
Recently, however, a friend of my family lost her husband to a long battle with cancer. She currently lives in another state but I was able to make a visit to 1800flowers and deliver her a gorgeous peace lily as a sign of my sympathy for the difficult time she must be going through.
While I was online it occurred to me that I could also send out a live plant to a friend who recently did me the huge favor of helping out with my kids during the days while I recovered from a terrible flu. I had been trying to think of a way to show my thanks and 1800flowers had a specific area for thank you gifts that were perfect. I was thrilled that I got it all done in such a short period of time and that I didn't even have to visit the post office! It was definitely 15 minutes well spent.
